Fall is here!

As I was walking my dog this morning I notice a few leafs have fallen. This gave a me a smile, because fall is one of my favorite seasons. Its time to get cozy and start creating again. With the kids back to school, I'll be able to have "Me time" to do what I love. I love this time of the year 'cause the weather is warm during the day and a cool at night. Soon the colors of trees will start to change colors and I'll get some new paintings done outside. I already started with some Holloween cards, I'll post them here, and on my etsy shop next week. Please stop by and take a look!

What's growing in your garden

Be kind to the people you meet in life. Do not let unkind thoughts become unkind words. - Patricia B., 1939, Dayton, Ohio

With this quote in mind. Spread kindness always, just as a bumble bee spreads pollen around, you will grow new flowers, and others will follow. - Jasmine Abrams 2011

Technology is good! or is it?

I'm a new comer when it comes to blogging, tweeting and facebook. However, it's very easy to get so into it that a day without it is like a day without Water! This pass weekend was a great way to get connected with my kids. I took advantage that my "systems" where down and force my boys (17 & 13) not to tweet, fb or text. We did the whole weekend getaway. So, being on Holiday for just 3 days with no "tech" was Great! We drove to two states, and this gave us alot of quality talk time! Do you know how hard it is to get two teen boys to talk? Very! But, I didn't give up and my husband was a gods gift since he broke the silence by starting the conversation with Baseball! Well that open the door to more topics and the next thing you know they were fighting to talk to us! It seems that both boys had alot to say. But never had the time since they are always texting, or in their own world on their laptop.
We do need technology...this is the world our society has created. It's all good. However, it's even a better thing when you put it down and spend more time talking and laughing with the ones you love.

Going Techno

We live in a high techno world. God forbid we go a week with tweeting or facebook. Some how, some way... we will find a way to post and share links with the World.

Learning how to use the iPhone

Since I can't use my laptop or desktop, I have become a master of the iPhone!
All jokes aside, I'm going crazy not being able to read my email in a normal screen.

Thank God for Technology

Don't ask me how but my laptop crashed, and my desktop wireless keyboard and mouse are not working. So... What is there to do? Duh?! I'll use my iPhone!

We are still here!

After the hole thing about the end of the world being 5/21, I have to quote Jim Morrison-"O great creator of being grant us one more hour to perform our art and perfect our lives".

Quote of the day

Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt, and poetry is painting that is felt rather than seen. ~Leonardo da Vinci

One of my favorite quotes

"I am still far from being what I want to be, but with God's help I shall succeed". - Vincent van Gogh

Quote of the day

"It is not the language of painters but the language of nature which one should listen to, the feeling for the things themselves, for reality, is more important than the feeling for pictures"

Creating art any way you can

It's amazing how you can create art even if its just making cards.
I'm home today making Valentine cards for my boys and my husband. In the pass I would search for hours for the perfect cards. I didn't want the cards to be to mushier or to much of this or not enough of that.... and so on. It was always an hour or two to find that perfect card, and it would drive me crazy. Well, now I'll spend the time creating them, and each one will be a one of a kind!

My husband has always been a big supporter of my art. For Christmas he bought me a Provo Craft "Cricut" machine! I haven't had the time to look it over. And today it turn out to be the perfect day to finally sit down and play! OMG! I've made several hearts in different sizes and a lace background to mount the hearts on.

I'm still reading the instructions, and making different shapes to get to learn the machine better.

Stay tune for pictures in a few days...

Happy Valentine's Day to all!

Another snowy day

Mmmm....another snowy day in the Poconos! Kids and the hubby are home.
I love days like this. We have a late breakfast and then we talk and reminisce on past snowy days. Later on the boys will get ready to go out-side and play in the snow. I go out too, but just to watch and take pictures. My husband is the biggest kid of all. He looks like a big Walrus sliding down our front hill. Lol. Then we'll have lunch, and watch a movie. This a always a fun time for us!

I don't get any painting done, buts that ok with me 'cause it's day like these that we will always remember. As my son Max would say "Good times, good times" : )

Three Kings Day

Happy Three Kings Day! Feliz Dia de Los Reyes! In Latin American Countries we celebrate "El Dia De Los Reyes" - Three Kings Day. This was the day that 3 kings visited baby Jesus after his birth and brought him presents. Traditionally this was our so call "Christmas Day" to give children gifts.

Asthma & Allergy Foundation

The Asthma & Allergy Foundation-St. Louis Chapter, is holding an Orchid Ball fundraiser to help provide asthma & allergy medications to children who cannot afford their prescription. They contacted me and asked me to donate one of my paints for their silent auction. In honor of my sister Jessica, I will donate my painting "Orchids Up close". My sister has been battling asthma all her life, and some of my friends and other family members. Some of us are bless to not be affected by asthma or allergy. You can help AAFA in many ways. Back to work

Well, I took some time off from painting. Not because I wanted to, but because the boys were home on Xmas break, did the big end of the year house cleaning, and had family visit from down south. Sad to say they are leaving my home tomorrow :(

But, I'm excited to get back down into my studio and start some new paintings! I will be posting some new pieces soon. Please stop by and give me your coments : )
